F

or my StoryMap I wish to explore The Armory Show of 1913 and the introduction of European Modernism has affected Contemporary Artist.

I wish to explore this idea by researching which famous American/European artist were presented to the New York audiences and correlating these influences into the artists we have studied in the New York City Semester.

Sarah Crowner to Henri Matisse.

Claudia Bitran to Marcel Duchamp

Keith Allyn Spencer to Wassily Kandinsky

Amna Asghar to Pierre-Auguste Renoir

I will keep relooking over the artist we have talked to and which historical artists have influenced them. This idea steams from the Is Modernism Dead article by Jerry Saltz.

I will write a history synopsis of the 1913 Armory Show and NYC’s reaction. Describe the correlations between artist shown and their influence on the contemporary artist we have met.
